Walter Howell "Harry" Davis, Jr. of Jasper, FL, passed away, peacefully, on September 30th, 2023, surrounded by his family. The City of Jasper was his home. On June 20th, 1947, Harry was born in Jasper to Walter Howell Davis, Sr. and Gladys Corbett. After graduating from Jasper High School, Harry began working on certification to operate sewage and water plants, and that's just what he did. Harry began working for the City of Jasper in 1972 as the Chief Sewer and Water Operating Officer. Harry never met a stranger and loved to talk to the residents of his city. He was a member of the Shriners, the Masons and led the Booster's Club for Hamilton County High School in the 1980s. Harry loved the outdoors and hunting, especially running dogs. After 46 years of service with the City of Jasper, Harry retired in 2018.
Harry is survived by his son, Tommy Harry Davis of Lake Butler, FL; his daughters: Tracy Davis Deas (Westley) of Jennings, FL, and Robin Elizabeth Marcano of Middleburg, FL; his brother, John F. Davis (Sherri) of Jasper, FL; his sisters, Carolyn Burnham (Ray) of White Springs, FL and Barbara Jaeger (Ralph) of Tallahassee, FL; and three grandchildren: Thomas Jeffry "T.J." Marcano, Jaden Deas, and Brooke Davis.
The family will receive friends at Harvest Fellowship Church, in Jasper, FL, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at Harvest Fellowship Church at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. All services are under the instruction of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper.
