Obituary
Walter Lee "Buddy" McGauley, Sr., age 68, of Jasper, FL. passed away Wednesday, November
5, 2008 at Shands at U.F. in Gainesville following an extended illness. Buddy was born in Hamilton County, FL. on January 24, 1940 to the late Hanceford and Edna Mercer McGauley.
He worked for a number of years at Evans Products. Buddy then made a career in law enforcement working with the State of Florida Department of Corrections and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
Survivors include his two sons, Walter Lee "Beaver" McGauley, Jr., Lake City, FL. and Chris McGauley (Vicki), Jasper, FL.; two daughters, Cheryl Kick (Chris), Lake City, FL. and Lori Ann McGauley, Jasper, FL.; step-son, Robert D. Mitchell, Jr. and two step-daughters, Stephanie Mitchell and Willa Phillips (Trent), all of Leesburg, FL.; three brothers, James "Jimmy" McGauley (Jean), Jacksonville, FL., Carl McGauley (Nancy), Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Leon McGauley (Gloria), Jasper, FL.; two sisters, Jean Fralick, Jasper, FL. and Lana Wisenbaker (Peyton), Jennings, FL.; seven grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at Harvest Fellowship Church in Jasper with Pastor Jerry Thomason officiating, assisted by Pastor Ralph Dillard and Pastor L.R. Leguire.
