Waymond E. Bledsoe, 71, passed away on November 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 21, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, Waymond lived a life defined by courage, strength, perseverance, and love.
He grew up in Hawkins County, Tennessee, where he met his wife of 51 years, Edith. Although they were surrounded by their loving families, they decided to embark on an adventure together by moving to Florida in 1980, where Hamilton County became their home.
Waymond was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Earl Bledsoe; his mother, Alice Duff; his brothers, Charles Bledsoe and Jimmy Bledsoe; his sister, Debbie Bledsoe; and his granddaughter, Riley Stubbs.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; his daughter, Melissa (Mark); his son, David; and his grandchildren, Ryan Stubbs (Molly) and Raissa Stubbs, as well as Kylie Robinson, whom he loved like a granddaughter.
He is also survived by his brothers, Gary Bledsoe, James Gatewood, Billy Gatewood, and Donald Justice, all of Tennessee; his sisters, Elizabeth Bledsoe and Glorida Gatewood, both of Tennessee, and Sandra Lindbert of Maryland; his brothers-in-law, Bert Bloomer and Joey Bloomer (Marilyn), both of Tennessee; and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Lamb (Donnie) and Helen Debord (Jim), both of Tennessee, and Betty Combass (Larry) of Florida.
Waymond will always be remembered for his selflessness, vibrant personality, love, and energy. His East Tennessee accent will always be an unmistakable part of how he is remembered. To know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed until the day they meet again. For now, he is safe with our Savior, finally free from pain and cured of cancer.
In honor of his life, his family asks that everyone show a moment of kindness to someone in need.
The family would like to thank the staff at Haven Hospice and Florida Cancer Institute for their care, kindness, and support. They also extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered prayers and kindness throughout this journey.
Services for Waymond will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
