Mr. William Henry Joyce Jr., age 65, of Valdosta, GA., passed away Friday, May 22, 2009, at his home, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Joyce was born in Echols County, Georgia to the late Mr. William Joyce Sr., and Mrs. Louise Gray. The Echols county native worked as a Ranger for the Georgia Forestry Commission, before retiring after 34 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Joyce, of Valdosta, GA.; his mother, Louise Gray, of Statenville, GA.; four sons, Bobby Joyce, of Statenville, William Joyce III, Shane Spivey, of Valdosta, and Sean Spivey, of Monks Corner, SC; one brother, George Joyce, of Statenville; two sisters, Aline Powell, and Juanita Tolle, both of Statenville; nine Grandchildren, and two Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Jimmy Joyce.
A graveside service was held on Monday, May 25, 2009, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Colquitt County, GA. with Rev. Travis D. Apperson officiating.
