Dr. William Harold Parady, age 91, of Valdosta, Georgia and a former Athens, Georgia resident passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 following a brief illness. Parady was born May 8, 1919 to the late William and Frances Parady. On September 11, 1943 he married the love of his life, Eloise Deas. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a decorated war veteran. Following the war Mr. Parady worked several jobs waiting for the economy to recover. His work with the Implement and Tractor Division of Ford Motor Company earned him recognition at the University of Georgia where he was asked to compile research on tractor hydraulics. He then joined the American Association for Vocational Instructional Materials (AAVIM) which was housed on the University of Georgia campus. The AAVIM published and distributed instruction manuals for vocational education. Dr. Parady authored, co-authored and/or participated in the editing of seventy eight books. He retired in 1986 and later moved to Macon, Georgia where he made his home before moving to Valdosta.

He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Eloise "Tot" Deas Parady; several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great- nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Burnham Christian Church with Pastor Johnny Brown officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
