Yvonne Yeomans was born to Dewey and Lyndall Yeomans in the sun-kissed town of Lakeland, FL on December 19, 1939. With a heart as vast as the Florida sky, she departed this life on April 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, passion, and love.

Immersed in the construction and carpentry business alongside her father in Lakeland, FL, for the majority of her professional life, Yvonne honed her skills in the trade. She later found herself traveling down the open road as a truck driver, where she navigated the highways and byways. However, it was in nature that Yvonne found happiness and true peace. Outdoors, she enjoyed fishing, farming, and nurturing her vegetable gardens. Her green thumb extended to her love for flowers, each petal a demonstration of her nurturing spirit. Yvonne also found joy in traveling. She crisscrossed the United States, taking in all the sights and experiences it had to offer.

Yvonne's love knew no bounds, especially when it came to family and her furry companions. From faithful dogs to the extraordinary, like her once-beloved lion, she nurtured and cherished every creature that found its way into her heart.

Yvonne treasured the time she had to spend with her family. Her daughter, Yvette Yeomans (John Michael) of Jasper, FL, held a special place in her heart, as did her sister, Sharon of St. Pete, FL. Yvonne's legacy extends to her grandchildren: Tabitha Renee, Candace, and Joey, and to the 22 great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.

She is preceded in death by her beloved soul mate of 25 years, Jimmy Wilkes, her son, Edward Allen Southerland, and her daughter, Melanie Southerland.

Yvonne's family will honor her life privately, as no services are being planned at this time.
